Here are the early entries for the points race challenge which is just two weeks away...

The rider categories are as follows:

Cat 1: Expert Riders, starting handicap -15pts

Cat 2: Sport Male under 30, starting handicap -10pts

Cat 3: Sport Male over 30, starting handicap -5pts

Cat 4: Sport Female, no starting handicap

Cat 5: Novice, no starting handicap, but are awarded a bonus point for each lap completed.

Each lap is divided into 3 sections and points are awarded to the top three finishing each of these sections. Points are awarded 3, 2 and 1. At the end of lap 4 the top five riders get bonus points. If riders are drawn on the same number of points at the end of the race their final positions in the competition are determined by their finishing positions at the end of lap 4.

 

Assuming at least one Cat 5 rider manages to complete all 4 laps...

A Cat 1 rider must score at least 19pts and finish ahead of the best placed Cat 5 rider.

A Cat 2 rider needs to score at least 14pts and beat the best Cat 5 rider.

A Cat 3 rider must score at least 9pts and beat the best Cat 5 rider.

A Cat 4 rider must score at least 4pts and beat the best Cat 5 rider.

A Cat 5 rider must complete as many laps as possible (gaining as many points as possible) and beat the other Cat 5 riders.
