    Team Celebrate Success in Style

The Stroud & Swindon Cycling Team members celebrated and re-lived both fundraising and sporting success at their first annual dinner.

The event was held at new restaurant Taste in Stroud and was enjoyed with guest Chris Lane, Stroud & Swindon's own semi-pro cyclist

Amongst swapping stories and tales of both comedy and scary moments during training and the race weekend the Team recalled such priceless moments such as...
Chris Wallace attempting to squeeze himself into the gazebo bag!
Tony's shock and horror after completing his first night time lap
Colin's 'over the handle bars' moment when his chain snapped.
Colin's 'where's my pedal gone' moment during training
The closeness of the racing during the first hours of the race
    The constant rain during training
    Helen's kit list!

There were awards too. Top quality prizes (£1 rosettes from Home Bargains) were handed out to the lucky winners. These were...

Dan wins best fundraiser award for managing to get £460 in personal sponsorship

Tony won best blagger for raising the most in corporate sponsorship

Colin won the 'I feel the burn' award for best sporting achievement after beating his 2008 race performance despite suffering some major mechanical problems.

Helen won Miss Redeye 2009 for staying up cooking all night

Scott won the 'I almost Died' award for the closet near death experience

And finally the Mr Mountain Mayham 2009 award went to Alan for his complete embodiment of the spirit of the event...and for wearing hi-vis with style!

DONT FORGET THE SSBS CYCLING POINTS RACE ON 1ST NOVEMBER 2009 AT SHEEPSCOMBE VILLAGE!!!
